Aubrey Potash is based in New York City and holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Susquehanna University. Always a dedicated and diligent student with an analytical mind, she graduated Summa Cum Laude, with Departmental Honors, and was also the Co-Valedictorian of her graduating class. She began her theatre training at Bucknell University in her early college semesters while, initially, majoring in elementary education. Her introduction to acting, singing, music, and dance occurred in her youth in Central Pennsylvania, and her love for these disciplines continued through her adolescence and into adulthood when they ultimately melded into her main profession in life.
Aubrey has much stage experience with credits including musical comedies, Theatre for Young Audiences productions, murder mysteries, and a one-woman show based on a Civil War socialite. She has worked regionally with various companies such as the Millbrook Playhouse and The National Historic Theatre. Her knack for comedy has been exhibited in many shows, among them a production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, in which she portrayed Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre, that was awarded honors at both state and regional level theatre festivals. Recently, she was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Regional Award in Central PA for her role as Amy in Company.
Aubrey's strong musicianship is evidenced in her formal vocal training, participation in choral ensembles, playing of the piano and alto saxophone, and in her ability to learn how to play other instruments through self-instruction, including the guitar and ukulele. She picks up new skills quickly and is always eager to learn. Aubrey has had dance training in jazz, tap, and ballet, and she continues to hone her skills in these areas. She has also worked on camera and hopes to further her experience in commercials, television, and film.
In addition to pursuing her career in the arts, Aubrey works as a substitute teacher and has assisted with the direction and coaching of high school students in drama department productions. She loves spending time with her family, has an adorable pet rabbit named Rooney, and particularly enjoys taking walks in nature, reading, and listening to music of all genres, but Coffee House channels will always be a preference.
Lastly, Aubrey has an affinity for taking pictures and puts her skills to use through her own photography endeavor, [A]ubrey[P]hotography, in which she offers a variety of photography sessions for headshots, engagement pictures, etc. Click HERE to learn more about her work with photography.
